The Spotted Eagle Owl (bubo africanus) nest is now being visited by Egyptian Geese lets hope they do not start nesting first but rather the Owl. As soon as the nest is occupied fully I will publish the webcam link.

The Spotted Eagle Owl popped in for a few seconds, checking out the nest, and then flew off again. So between the geese and the owls we should have a permanent tenant soon.Their have been various email alerts notifying me of some visitors but normally 7am (morning) and 17:30 (evening) with the geese visiting at various times during the day.

I am in two minds whether to increase the image resolution to full or leave it the smaller as bandwidth is sponsored and you know how much bandwidth cost in South Africa. Small image every 30 sec: 2Gb/month Large image every 30 sec: 6Gb/month
New image from this mornings visit Date: 15 July 2009 @ 07:10
